Today was a wonderful day for both Ashley and Jeryn. Ashley started dialysis today, which got a lot of things moving like they were supposed to! The renal specialist (kidney doctor) liked what he was seeing and said they will do another round tomorrow. We hope that after round 2, then her kidneys will start working on their own... we are praying hard!
Jeryn had to have her IV moved and was stuck in four different spots and never made a peep! She is already tough as nails... just like her mommy! At midnight tonight the amazing nurses at Children's Mercy will take her off her cooling treatment and will gradually start warming her up. This is done a half a degree an hour and then she will hopefully be ready to be held!!! Her daddy can't wait to hold her close and smell that delicious baby smell :)
The dialysis made Ash pretty tired today but she was able to open some presents which she enjoyed :) She also started her liquid diet. They brought her a tray just FULL of liquids... mushroom soup (nasty), sprite, orange juice, apple juice, grape juice, water, coffee, milkshake, jello, etc. She definitely passed on the mushroom soup... but her dad Bob sure didn't! He drank that nasty soup straight from the bowl, no spoon needed haha. She said that only cold stuff sounded good so she had a little bit of everything! As soon as she's able to... I'm bringing in her favorite treat for her... a Peanut Butter Perfection sundae from Coldstone!!! Thank you all again for your prayers. God is GREAT because he is answering our prayers and is taking wonderful care of our girls!!!
P.S. Please feel free to leave comments for Ashley and Jerad... they are reading the blog as well :)
