Extreme Makeover: Teacher Edition

Back during testing season I told my kids that if they all met their state assessment goals then they could do a teacher makeover. Welllll... they all met (woo-hoo!) which meant I had to hold up my part of the bargain. Here's the before! (*Disclaimer: Please excuse the ghetto bare classroom... it's all packed up for summer break!)

Getting started on nails and makeup...

Really Ben? You're gonna give your teacher a black eye?

NEON nails!

Nails and Makeup done... onto hair and clothes

Wowza!
The dye package said this was washable, right?!?

They made me Erkel up my pants and everything :(

At least all the cool kids do it ;)

And the after shot... I scared children... literally. But man did my 5th graders love embarrassing me all day... totally worth it after my five washes and two conditioning treatments later :) Making my 5th graders happy= totally worth every minute of utter humiliation!

Guys & Girls Weekend

This weekend was jam-packed with lots of fun stuff! Trent and all the GB boys had Nate's bachelor party while me and Wendy had a KC shopping excursion. The guys went golfing, tried to do the KC Beerfest in Westport (but they ran out of beer, boo), ate dinner at Johnny's, and then bar-hopped in P&L. Me and Wendy on the otherhand... shopped and shopped and shopped... then partied in P&L :)

We did some major damage :)

Every summer P&L hosts a free concert series throughout the summer season and Saturday night was the big kick-off. Trailer Choir was the opening band and they were awesome! I especially loved the big dude in the overalls... he could dance!

Shopping partners in crime! Just waiting for Phil Vassar to come on!!!

We even found one of the Trailer Choir guys in the crowd drinking... I think his name was Brett, Brenton, Britton, ??? I know it started with a B!

Phil was awesome as usual! We got to see him a couple years back at Stampede from the front row... he puts on a heckuva concert! Anybody that dances on top of their piano, drinks with the crowd, then belly slides across the piano gets an A+ in my book!

I have a feeling we were singing a song here or something....

We met up with some of the GB boys since they were at P&L too. Bachelor Nate was off partying somewhere else while we stole these guys...

Enough time to watch Phil, have some beers, take a picture, then go our separate ways for the night :)

And this picture HAD to go up for Blake the Creeper ;)

Erin's Bachelorette Party

The gorgeous bride-to-be and her gorgeous cake!

Our bling for the evening :)

Mindy, me, and Katie

Opening presents!

Erin with her mom, Kay, and her almost mother-in-law, Terry.

The GB Wives Club... we missed you Wendy!!!

Terry is part of the GB Wives Club too :)

Yes... I made everybody do a self-timer shot. Go ahead and laugh at me.

Erin and her mama getting ready to leave for the bars! What a fun night!!! Can't wait for Erin and Nate's big day on June 12!!!!

Teacher Night at the K

Every year the two middle schools in Gardner have a "Ridge Night at the K" to celebrate the end of the school year. Any place there's cotton candy I'm soooo there. And my best friend teaches in Gardner too so we both got to go. We spent more of the evening socializing than watching the game but that's what we do best :)

With my best friend Jobeth in our nose bleed seats :) Jo teaches 5th grade at Pioneer Ridge and I teach 5th grade at Wheatridge... if only we were at the same school! Maybe one day :)

Time for fireworks!!!

The school bus was supposed to pick everybody back up at the gate but it got locked in some parking lot wayyyyy far away... so we got to hitch a ride on a golf cart back to the bus. Fun ending to a fun night :)

Scott & Lindsay Sieben

Wedding season has arrived!!!! The first 2010 wedding kicked off in Manhattan on May Day for Lindsay Friess & Scott Sieben.

The Great Bend Wives Club

My pictures got out of order :( Dang you blogspot. By this time in the night me and Wendy had several drinks and felt that Scott needed both of us at the same time for the dollar dance :)

First round of shots at the reception... can't remember what I ordered for everybody though.....

Trent & the gorgeous Mrs. Sieben! They have been friends since wayyyy back in middle school days!

Can you say twinkies? We didn't plan it either... I swear.

I told Trent we HAD to get a picture before my eyes got all squinty like they do... I failed that test as you can see.

So after a crazy reception with an open bar :) the bride and groom continued the party at Kite's Banquet Room down in Aggieville. It was awesome to say the least.

GB boys: Rusco, Esfeld, Hughes, and Big O

Mrs. Olivier, Mrs. Sieben, and Mrs. Rusco

I had to Blake, I had to. Don't kill me for putting up this picture ;) You know it's your favorite from that night!

Look who's first to bed like usual ;) while the rest of us finished strong till 4 a.m.
