Michael Buble
So like 2 months ago Ashley bought Jerad tickets to Michael Buble for his first Father's Day... which meant we got to be the lucky babysitters! I had been looking forward to this for weeks... and then I got a phone call on Friday. A good phone call! My friend Tyler called me and said his girlfriend Dani got four free tickets from her boss for Michael Buble. And asked if we wanted to go with them! But remember that whole babysitting part? Yeah. So luckily, Jerad's brother ended up keeping Jeryn overnight and we all went to Buble. Happy ending for all but I still need a makeup babysitting gig soon!
The opening act was Naturally 7. Youtube them now cause they are crazy good! They don't even use instruments... everything is done with their voice. It was ridiculous. Seriously... youtube them now before you forget ;)
Our awesome friends Tyler and Dani.
Please excuse the tomato face I'm rocking. Some moron went to the pool from 10-5 with no sunscreen.
Tyler and Dani
Michael Buble was awesome!!!! And he's suprisingly funny too. I wasn't expecting that at all based on his music and stuff. But he put on a heckuva show, cracked jokes, and cussed up a storm... didn't expect that one! After the concert we tried to hit up P&L but that place was insanely packed so we headed to The Other Place for food, drinks, and catch up time with our wonderful friends... just wish they didn't live in Wichita!!! Thanks again for an awesome night out guys!!!!!

Harrah's and Harley's
Trent and his boss Steve are radio contest junkies. Like... stage 5... they need an intervention type obsession. They have the radios on speed dial on their office phones! I can't even have a radio at my job!!!! Granted... I teach kids... but whatever ;)
So Trent's fave station, 98.9 The Rock, has this contest a couple times a year where you call in to win a Harley key. Then they have a concert and the key winners come up on stage and try their key to see if it's the winning Harley key. AND if you're a Rockaholic (which of course Trent is) you get the keys to a car thrown in too. This year the prizes were some type of Harley motorcycle and a black-on-black Camaro SS.
Trent's boss also won a key so the 3 of us headed to Harrah's last Thursday to try and win it all. It was also my first time at the casinos. How sad is that?!? So after registration we had time to kill before the concert started. I came to the casinos with $20 and only gambled away $10 of it! High roller right here folks!
After spending $10 on the quarter and penny slots I won it all back with some Triple 7's (like I know what the heck that is) and won $10.70. You'd think with the whoop that I let you that I'd just won a million dollars. As if I hadn't embarrassed Trent enough with my whoops, hollers, and way too forceful pulls on the levers, I HAD to get a picture with my winning machine! So I guess after you subtract the $10 I'd already spent... I walked away $0.70 richer. I'll try not to spend it all in one place!
There were 300 people there that had won keys and Trent was #207. Steve was like 243 or something. But unfortunatley we didn't go home with a new Harley and a Camaro that night. Stupid #57 was the big winner. Trent didn't even get to go on stage :( He was so funny cause he said "I didn't even really want to win since I already have a Harley, I just wanted to go on stage and shake Johnny's hand." Maybe next year Trent can win another key to meet his favorite DJ AND be the big winner!

Puppy Grandparents
Trent and I are pleased to announce the arrival of 6 grandchildren to our family (that makes 10 total!). Bentley got Trent's sister's dog preggers and out came these little rascals this past weekend. Bentley (our handsome stud!) is a full yorkie and Mama Reeses is Yorkie/Shitzu. Needless to say they make CUTE puppies!!! 3 look exactly like Yorkies and will be miniature Bentleys I'm sure. The other 3 are dark chocolate right now, which is what Reeses looked like as a puppy before she turned into a blondie.
Look at them all curled up... all they do right now is eat and sleep, eat and sleep, etc. Kinda like a real baby from what I hear ;)
Reeses is such a good mommy... she hardly ever leaves her babies and is very alert when you take one to hold. Which of course I do. A lot. I go over to Ashley and Jerad's quite a bit to see the puppies AND Jeryn of course!
Look at that face would ya?!? How TINY is she? I'm in love and already begging Trent to add to our family. Sadly... that is one battle I know I won't win. But in 7-8 weeks they will be needing good homes. There are 3 boys and 3 girls and they are all just precious. I would keep them all if Trent would let me ;)
And I had to put one up of our fur babies... they've been going on the walking trails in Gardner everyday with me and Ashley. Which means that every night they are wiped! As you can see from our trio cuddlefest while we watched UP last night :)

Dear Pyrex, You Stink
Dear Pyrex Company,
This evening at approximately 8:00 p.m. you might've lost our business for good. You see... off I went to my masters class... leaving my husband to his own devices. Lucky for me, he wanted to surprise me with a nice home-cooked meal... candles and all he claims ;) So he whipped up a nice chicken/cheese/pasta concoction and placed it in one of your 9x13 dishes. All is well... but fast forward to 8:00 and he hears an explosion in our kitchen. No, I'm not exaggerating Pyrex... it was an explosion. The dogs ran barking, my husband went running, and this is what he finds.

As you can see your baking dish exploded and shattered into a million pieces. Therefore, spoiling my husband's dinner plans of surprising me as I walked in the door exhausted from a four hour long class.
Lucky for you, we were so hungry by this point that we picked around the large shards of glass that infiltrated our food and hoped for the best.

So until I can guarantee a full reimbursement and an apology, we will be taking our business elsewhere. Thank you and good day.
Your disappointed and tired-of-scraping-this-dang-oven customers,
Trenton & Kala

Mr. & Mrs. Hughes
On Saturday we traveled to Salina to see one of Trent's high school buddies, Nate Hughes ,get married to Erin Engelland. Nate and Erin had a gorgeous wedding in Salina at Erin's parent's farm. Typical KS had to brew up some major thunderstorms and tornado warnings. But the storm held off long enough for the outdoor ceremony.
The bride and bridesmaids driving up to the ceremony.
They're hitched!
Getting our picture in before the humidity took over my hair.
My awesome in-laws.
Their getaway tractor and trailer :)
Katie, Wendy, and me trying not to melt away in the heat and humidity!
Mr. and Mrs. Hughes!!!
The parents dance
Wouldn't be a Great Bend wedding without some Boone's Farm!!!
Me and Wendy with the beautiful bride.
The GB Wives Club... missing Mindy :(
You can tell Trent was having a good time based on those moves ;) Poor Erin looks frightened. If you look closely at Trent's shirt you can see how soaked he was... the storm blew into town and almost took out the tent... but that didn't stop the reception one bit!
Wendy, Callie, me, and Caitlin
The Great Bend kids
Back at the RV... the boys were out within 5 minutes of laying down.
But me and Wendy weren't ready to call it a night just yet... we ate Chex-Mix, drank champagne, and girl talked till 3 in the morning! Such a fun, fun weekend... but man was the drive back to KC a long one ;)
