Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend started off Saturday morning with Trenton heading out to buy two new toys- an edger and a blower. He was like a kid in a candy store, beaming ear to ear haha.

Blowing off grass clippings because yes, Trent is that anal ;)

Then all Saturday afternoon we got our backyard and deck ready for our Memorial Weekend BBQ with our friends. Trent's job was to install our new deck umbrella storage, aka PVC pipe, and my job was to water flowers, charge our solar lanterns, set out our tiki torches, bug lanterns, candles, etc... ya know all that hard stuff obviously.

Here's the grill master going to work to feed the 15 people and 4 dogs we had over.

Trying to get Parker to laugh... he's such a cutie!

No summer BBQ is complete without a selfie! We had such a good time with our friends... lots of beer, food, and beer frisbee! Just forgot to take more pictures of the gang :(

Then bright and early Sunday morning (6:30!) we headed over to Celebration Park in Gardner to watch the Balloon Festival. Trent and I love hot air balloons after our doing one ourselves last year for our anniversary.

Their was a target in front of us that all the balloon pilots were trying to hit with bean bags. But the crazy driver of this balloon came down so fast and so hot that he caught his balloon on FIRE! He kept flying but you could hear him and some of the other pilots near him yelling and getting mad at each other.
We saw 31 balloons total... it was balloon madness!

Normally I wouldn't even be awake yet on a Sunday morning, but seeing all the balloons woke us up so we walked around the park and played like 6 year olds, which then made us hungry for a healthy doughnut breakfast.

We took a nap Sunday afternoon then hit the road for an evening bike ride and dinner out. We were going to go back to the park and watch the balloon's night glow but a storm moved in so we had movie night instead. Monday was spent visiting my grandpa down in Yates Center and then BBQ'ing that evening with my parents. All in all... a pretty fantastic weekend!
