Easter 2011
Another Easter spent back in Great Bend! Enjoy the pictures...
Trent and Joshua spent most of Saturday helping out at Bob's shop, "The Knuckle"
Joshua was hard at work all day!! He definitely slept good that night!
Joshy and Trent admiring their hard work
While Bob and Trent worked at the shop the rest of us went to the annual HUGE Easter egg hunt at GBHS. This was the amount of eggs for the under 3 years group.
Trying to entice Jeryn to grab some goodies!
She'd just rather carry around her empty basket :)
Joshua has had a few years of this under his belt so he had to show Jeryn how it's done!
Sunday afternoon after we got home from church... the backyard Easter egg hunt!
The boys on the hunt for the eggs
Jeryn Fe the energizer bunny!
Jeryn was not feeling the photo shoot today!
Check out the sweet rain chain that Bob and Lora just put in!
Angie and the boys! 2 of our 3 nephews are now taller than me and Angie :(

Uncle Trenton showing Jeramie some shot put pointers

House Painting Before Pics
For two spring breaks in a row now we've tackled a painting project. This spring break (over a month ago... I'm behind on blogging obviously) we tackled the whole house. Living room, kitchen, dining room, hallways, den. It was part of my 25 Things to have done before my upcoming birthday in July and with hosting 3 baby showers I knew we needed to get on it ASAP. The hard part was picking out the paint. It took me about a month and a half to finally settle on a color after I had lived with the samples and asked about 15 people for their opinions. Leave it to me to end up going with the first one I picked. I should always follow my gut instinct... it's always what I go with! Here's all the before pics. Haven't taken any after pics yet... maybe I'll do that tomorrow and hopefully blog about it in a timely manner :)

Shot of stairs going up to bedrooms... notice my adorable furry helpers :)

The big ole wall I was dreading...

I forgot to take any before pics of the den. Oops... you'll see it in after pics I guess :) Instead here's my furry friends helping me prep for paint by laying on the paint sheets covering furniture.

Lora's Birthday Weekend
Last weekend we got to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Mauler and Lora's birthday weekend all in one!
At the baby shower Brandon's mom brought out her dog and I instantly fell in love!! She weighs a little less than 2 pounds! Seriously the smallest Yorkie I've ever seen. My baby Bentley only weighs 5 pounds and I thought he was itty bitty.
I almost put her in my purse to go home with me!
For Lora's birthday dinner we took her to Cheddar's- delicious! Here's the birthday girl with her huge margarita!
Both me and Ashley had to get celebratory drinks too of course! Ashley's is on the right- a yummy sangria margarita. And my concoction in the middle is called The Painkiller. I ordered it specifically because underneath the drink picture it says: **Limit 2 per customer**. I've never seen a drink limit on a menu before so I HAD to try The Painkiller. Honestly, I don't get why they put the limit. It was delicious but in no way caused me pain or knocked me out. Guess I should've gotten that second one to find out...
The fam
Back at Ashley and Jerad's for ice cream cake! Hope you had a very happy birthday Lora!!!

Spring has Sprung!
Last weekend was jam packed... just how I like it. Why can our weekends not last longer :(
Friday night we got to watch the Royals from the Diamond Club with Ashley, Jerad, and Jeryn. We like rollin' VIP style.
This wild monkey had a barrel of fun :)
Sweet seats right?!
Me and my favorite girl
Trying to tame this wild child! We all said this is the only age where she's allowed to dance on the bar ;)
Can't beat Friday night fireworks at The K!
After the fireworks... which Jeryn loved... and was actually awake for this year!
Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of co-hosting a baby shower for one of my team teachers, Jen. Baby girl is due in about a month and the 5th grade team is soooo excited to meet our newest member! And I have to give a shout-out to Jen's mom, Sandy, who is an avid blog-stalker ;) Hi Sandy!!
I had to post the stuff I got for the little miss. Target has a whole section of stuff for boys and girls on their first birthdays. It's obviously wayyy in advance but I couldn't pass the outfit up... shirt, tutu, bib, crown... baby girl just had to have it all!
Jen definitely has the mommy glow :) For the shower instead of a guestbook or a sign in page I had everyone write their name on one side and their predictions for birthday/height/weight on the other.
The shower guests... that's a whole lotta teachers!
5/9 of our 5th grade team... the other two left before we remembered a picture... and the other two are dudes who probably didn't want to be at a baby shower!
Amanda bought the most delicious cake ever... like even better than most wedding cakes! But then she also had to buy each of us one of these cute little cupcakes. If you didn't just go, "Ahhhh how cute," then you need to take a closer look!
Saturday night we celebrated our friend Ben's birthday at the Bocce Basement in Olathe. If you've never gone there you really should. It's a bunch of bocce ball courts inside a building where you can buy pretty cheap drinks. But even better... they sell them to you in cans. Classy establishment ;)
Here's some of us ladies with our bocce balls. We got better as the night wore on ;)
Some of the guys
Room temp tequila shots. No salt. No lime. Trent said it was terrible lol and he hates tequila! After playing a couple rounds of bocce ball the party moved to the Blue Moose to help the birthday boy continue the celebration. I'm pretty sure he was hurting the next morning!
Then Sunday morning we were up and at it for our March date. It technically wasn't March but we pretended anyway. We started with lunch at the New York Dog Pound up off Shawnee Mission Parkway. It's a specialty hot dog place that was DELICOUS!!! We each got the Yankee Poodle hot dog and some sweet potato fries. I left feeling happy and oh-so-healthy.
March was my month to plan and surprise Trent with so we went to downtown KC to see the Liberty Memorial and the WWI Museum.
Sunday was a beautiful 90 degree April day but dang was it windy!!
The view from inside the museum once you enter.
The cool bridge over the symbolic field of poppies. You walk across the glass bottomed bridge to enter the exhibits.
We spent like 4 hours in this museum and what was Trent's favorite part??? A motorcycle. Go figure, right?
When you buy your museum ticket the price to go up the tower is included. This was my favorite part!!
The view from the top of the Liberty Memorial. Right below is Union Station with the KC skyline in the background.
Best pic we could muster after the wind attacked us. Not smart to pick the day where winds are 40 mph haha!
Super fun weekend... just wish it wasn't always followed by miserable Monday.
