Day 5- Cayman Islands

Yup... I'm a sucky blogger and it's embarrassing.  As Lora and Ashley kindly reminded me I never finished blogging the cruise... and we're about to embark on a short trip this weekend. I told myself I couldn't go on the trip until the cruise was blogged.  I only got 2 days- crap!!

Day 5 was spent in Grand Cayman.  It was gorgeous!!! That's our cruise ship in the background.

Our excursion at this port was by far one of the coolest things we've ever done- snuba.  It's snorkel/scuba diving all in one.  You partly wear scuba gear but you don't have to be certified- you only go 30 feet and you're connected to a hose.  Not gonna lie- it was kinda freaky at first but once you adjust it is awesome.

Ashley and Jerad saw a barracuda at one point- glad I avoided that one.

Check out all the fish!! They were everywhere and were not afraid at all.

The excursion was called "Shipwreck Shuba" because we actually got to explore around a sunken ship.  Way cool.

In the words of Paris Hilton, "That's hot."

After a morning of snuba-ing (new word for Webster's!) we were starved and parched so we headed to Margaritaville.  Much to my excitement (and his dismay haha) Trent was chosen for a beer chugging contest.  Please... like there's any competition for this guy.  They had 6 other contestants- one was even like 73 if I remember correctly.  But the tie breaker came down to Trent and this guy...

And guess who walked away the champion- with a free 6 pack in hand?!  I've never been so proud to call him my husband.  There might've been another contest that I was a part of but my in-laws tell lies and stretch the truth to what really happened so we'll just leave that story out of the ole blog.  It's my blog and I'll do what I want ;)

Cleaned up for dinner

Gorgeous sunset- Ashley and Jerad matched it perfectly

They clean up really well :)

The fam

Our boat at night as we watched the dancing and silent statue/modeling going on??  Whatever it was... Lady Gaga called and wants her costume back.

10th Annual Glass Blown Open

As you may know from posts here and here, we love heading to Emporia to hang out with Jeremy, Wendy, and the rest of the Dynamic Discs crew.  This year was the biggest one yet- 432 players, the PDGA in attendance, 3 courses, and a tornado.

Friday night we surprised Jeremy cause he thought Trent wasn't gonna be able to make it.  Like he could miss the GBO- especially the 10th one!! So we started at the Emporia Country Club for players' poker night, then headed to Natasha's, and finally shut it down at 707.  I felt like I was back in college.  It was awesome to be back in the ol' stomping grounds. Even if it wasn't the Dugout ;)

Saturday morning was rough, not gonna lie.  Trent was happy he skipped 707, we think he missed out!

We got to help out at the tournament by driving the disc golf players back to the clubhouse on the golf carts.  Can't believe Jeremy trusted us with a golf cart- he clearly doesn't have a copy of my driving record!

Despite the 40 mph winds (awful!) the players made the best of it and had a great experience thanks to all of the DD crew's hard work.

Saturday night was a big dinner, some contests, and a live band at The Granada.

The GB boys, too bad Trent took off his shirt or they could've all 3 matched. Super cute ;)

Kim and Charles met up with us too since we were in town.

My boy :)

Enjoying the concert with Kim

Shots for the girls!

The band.  One of my favorite parts was when Wendy made me (yes, she forced me to!) write a song request on a napkin for the band and signed it from Jeremy haha.  Sadly, not all country bands know Copperhead Road.  We were very disappointed.

SO much fun that day/night with these ladies!  But this was about the time that we were getting warnings/texts/phone calls from friends and family saying that Emporia was about to get hit with storms/tornadoes and we needed to get to safety.  So we peaced out pretty fast, ran back to Jeremy's shop, couldn't find keys, moved the RV, and finally headed back to their house.  On the way the sirens started going off and we knew we had to book it.  Jeremy had some mad driving skills.

We told Wendy she needed to grab some emergency supplies while we hunkered down in their basement.  This is what she grabbed- plus 3 bowls of popcorn and a bag of Doritos.  And this is why we are friends :)  Thankfully, the sirens were only going off for about 15-20 minutes, we had the furbabies with us, and the storm quickly broke up once it hit Emporia.  But it was funny to see all the out-of-staters disappointed that they didn't see a tornado.  I was quite alright with that!  Thanks to the Ruscos and the DD crew for a fun filled weekend!!

Final Four Weekend

The weekend of the Final Four was such a fun one I couldn't miss blogging about it... even if it's almost a month ago already.  Sheesh...

Our friends Brandon and Mindy were in town from Illinois so we all met up at Spin Pizza for some pizza, wine, and baby loving!  Here's Jess and Mindy with their little ones.  Only a few months apart but quite the size difference ;)

Fun to see everybody!

Then the next night was spent cheering my 'Hawks to a Final Four win!!!  I always have a good time if Sara's around :)

Shots, shots, shots, shots, shots, shots.... now I'm singing that dang song in my head...

Jason and Al created a new inventive pour.

Don't mind my red eyes... at least they are KU colored ;)

Jason and Sara rented a VIP room at Mac's Bar and it was perfect!  Flat screen, leather couches, right by the bar, and a personal waitress... couldn't get much better than that!

KU WINS!!!!  Ahhh!  This pic was followed by screaming, hugging, and lots of jumping on the leather couch.  That place wins the award for bounciest couch ever.

And a new shot that got our stamp of approval.  Something that was free, large, and Dr. Pepper related.  Too bad we don't remember the dang name!

I wish I could follow up this post with a National Championship post... but sadly we all know how that game went :(  Maybe next year.  Until then... good job Bill and the boys!  Rock Chalk!!

Surprise Party for Austin

A couple weekends ago we go to join in the surprise party planned for our buddy Austin.  He has been in the Navy for the last 5 years and has spent his time in Washington and Japan... but nothing's quite like home!

Ladies partying at the Legion Hall!

2/5 of the "Fab Five"... sounds so stupid 10 years later haha.

Glezz and his Capri Sun- he was more excited about that than anything.

My girl Cays :)
Introducing the baby beers to the gang.  They agreed that these are the best new shots ever!!

Patty's Party

Patty's was always my favorite holiday in college... and not just cause I'm Irish.  This year since Patty's was on a Saturday we were able to bring back the glory days for a little bit :)

Baby beers are our new favorite shot- delish!!
Shots for Austin and Michelle moving back!

Patty's Day with my love

Group shot of the whole gang out at the Double Nickel

Love my buddy Austin!!  So glad that he has served his country for the past 5 years and is now officially back for good!!!
My G-town boys

Trent will probably kill me for posting this but it's too funny not to.  Just more proof that between his giant noggin and my nugget head, we might have a child with a normal sized head ;)

The Many Faces of J-Fe

Ashley and Jerad went to see the Hunger Games (amazing btw) today which meant we got to steal Jeryn Fe for the whole afternoon.  It was the best part of our weekend for sure :)  This girl is something else!  She definitely has Tio and Tia wrapped around her tiny little finger.

 Her "I'm an angel" face.

Her "I'm up to something" face.

 Her "Crazy Baby" face.

Her "Cheeeeeeeese" face.
