I'm a TEN! But it's not a good thing.

This weekend was spent down in EMPORIA! Man I miss that town and all the college fun we had... glad some of our best friends still live there so we can pretend we're college kids again :) This weekend was another disc golf tournament that Jeremy hosted. Naturally Trent went to work it and I went to party. But unfortunately I forgot to take pics at the tourney :(

Us 3 ladies had the intention of playing power hour like the last tournament but the day got away from us and we never got around to it :( Guess we'll have to come to another tournament!

So we went to J-Mo's Saturday night and after watching countless dudes hit this boxing machine that scores how hard you hit we thought it was a grand idea to do it ourselves. I'm embarrassed and ashamed to say that I really did roll up my sleeve and blow air into my thumb to "pump up" my muscles. Turned out that it doesn't help. Like, at all.

Becky went first and got like 180-something. I was impressed and scared to go next.

Here's my first attempt. Things that went wrong....
1. Schmitty got the attention of the whole bar and I had an audience. Not a good thing.
2. I rolled up my sleeves and started trash-talking like I'm tough. I'm not.
3. Instead of some rap or rock music playing to get me fired up they start playing Justin Bieber. Not a good I'm-gonna-kill-this-punching-bag type of song. I no longer have Bieber Fever.
4. Trent kept teasing me that I was gonna whiff it. Thanks baby, love you too.
5. People are video-taping this to put on the world wide web. I don't wanna be worldwide.
6. I take off my rings and bracelets like I'm training for UFC. This is not the Octagong Kala, take a chill pill.

So what happened you ask? Well combine all those elements playing against me and Trent predicted it... I totally whiffed it... came closer to hitting it with my head than my hand... and the whole bar is watching. Awesome. Not.

Attempt #2.... andddd..... I pretty much tapped it. I even came running this time. Only to get a whopping 10. Yes... a 10. Trent could probably just stare at the thing and get a ten.

Thanks to my liquid encouragement... I felt empowered by my ten. Cause let's face it... I could do worse. No, I DID do worse than that.

So up saunters Wendy...

And she kills it. She gets a 543! I know who I'm picking to be in my corner if I get in a fight!

At least I was supporting Dynamic Discs with my DD's. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Jeremy doesn't want me wearing his logo anymore. I could possibly hurt his business.

And I'm back. Have you heard the expression, "Third times a charm?" Yeahhhh.... totally don't believe in that now. 3rd try... I got a 12. Yup... 2 whole more points. Are you scurrred yet? You should be.

4th and final try....Please please please let me do better this time.

4th try and what did I finally get........

A 224!!!!!! This is my proof... it really did happen! My goal by next year's GBO tournament in April... 500. I'm gonna need some practice.

CT had a few too many as usual hahaha...

The amazing Ruscos!

This is why I married the guy with the big guns ;)

So minus the humiliation I put myself through on Saturday night and we had a heckuva weekend! Thanks to Jeremy and Wendy for another fabulous weekend and for letting us and the fur babies crash for a couple days. Even they partied too hard this weekend... all they did tonight was sleep :)

I. Hate. Mondays.... and sometimes Tuesdays

WOW. I forgot how exhausting the first week back can be. I told Trent I was ready for bed at 8:30. Is that what I've come to at the ripe old age of 25?!? I hope this is only temporary!

At least I have my gals with me :) But sadly enough our fabulous foursome team got split up this year :( sniffle, sniffle :( But that will never break our bond!

But luckily me and Amanda got paired with our awesome new team member, Ryan. He's a first year teacher from ESU, just got married, and just turned 25 this July too... hello male version of me haha. We also have an amazing team name based off of our last names. Wait for it....

Team ROC!!!! Every email we send pretty much has song lyrics in it with the word "ROCK" thrown in there somewhere. We were pretty excited about this bond we now share ;) Easily pleased obviously.

But to ease my case of the Mondays (or Tuesdays in this case) I was a very lucky lady with not one.... but TWO deliveries of flowers to my classroom today!!! The white ones are from one of my new kiddos and the pink flowers in the darling tea cup set were sent by my wonderful in-laws. Trent.... time to step up your game man. Your parents and a 10 year old got you beat ;) haha!

Worst Day of the Year

Every year in early August there comes a day that is so much worse than the other 364 days in the year.... the day us teachers have to go back to work :( Now I know that most of you are saying "Oh suck it up... I work all year long" (cough, cough... TRENT!), but us teachers NEED our summer break to make it the rest of the year with our little angels ;) The day has been dreaded for weeks for me and it has finally come. Think if I don't go to bed then it won't come??? To try and help ease me back into work my hubby tried to help a little... part of my anniversary present was a gift certificate to a spa here in Gardner. So I went in for a little pampering with the Royal Treatment Package before returning to the daily grind. Queen for a Day? Uhhh yes please :)

The massage room... yes I had my camera in my bag to document my day. Laugh all you want ;)

This was the room for my facial.

And lastly my toes post-pedicure. Peppermint Pink :)

Now if I was really desperate I could be like Ashley and decide to coerce my gall bladder into making itself act up yesterday and need an emergency surgery... the lengths some people will go to I tell ya ;) I'm kidding!!! For those who haven't heard... poor Ashley was feeling really bad this weekend and Jerad took her into the ER Saturday afternoon. After some tests and checks it was decided that she needed her gall bladder taken out. So exactly six months to the day of Jeryn coming into this world... Ashley was right back at St. Luke's South having another surgery. But this time everything was totally routine and went just fine. She was dismissed this afternoon and is now at home resting and preparing for going back to teaching later this week. We just like to tease her for being that desperate to make her summer break last just a few days longer :)

Jeryn's First Royals Game

Bob and Lora haven't been to a Royals games in years and years so they came up for a 3-day weekend and the whole Olivier family (Jeryn included!) made it a day at the K!

Lucky for us a golf cart pulled up right where we parked so we all hopped on. Another first to document for Jeryn= first game AND first golf cart ride.

As the guys bought our tickets we parked in the shade and Jeryn decided it was time to debut her cheerleading skills!!! Much to my excitement (YES, YES, YES!!!!!) and much to Ashley's dismay (hahahahaha) ... Jeryn pulled her first heel stretch! And she even pulled it with her left leg... just like her Aunt Kala did back in the day! It was a very proud moment for me and a moment of terror for Ashley. Will Jeryn grow up to b a cheerleader or a volleyball/basketball player???? We will see.... you know my vote ;)

Our family outside the K

See... totally a cheerleader!!! This time she's doing a toe-touch ;)

After a super exciting game and the Royals finally getting a win after a 5 game losing streak we got to watch the Friday night fireworks! My second favorite part of the day... after the cotton candy.

She was awake for the entire game... but just couldn't fight it anymore... this crazy little girl was OUT during the fireworks! No amount of booms and bangs could wake this sleeping beauty!

Monday Night Craft Night

Tonight was a fun girl's night at Lisa's apartment! Jess and Lisa had seen my 25 goals blog post from my birthday and decided to make goal books of their own, yay!!! So I got to go and donate my 'expertise' haha... not so much! Pizza + Beer + Scrapbooking + The Bachelorette = Awesome Night :)

Lisa working away on her book.

Jess cutting the paper for her book.

We made quite the mess... evidence of some serious scrapbooking going on!

The end result... Jess' on the left, mine in the middle (nothing different from the last time you saw it), and Lisa's on the right. And the girls informed me that I should clarify that my book is only a 4x6 sized mini-book. I was told that when pictured it looks much bigger and can be misleading ;) I chose the 4x6 size because I can easily print out the pictures as a 4x6 and insert them into the book as a page right away. But you could easily change the size of the book to anything you want.

Here we are with our books... now we better get busy accomplishing all our to-do's! Can't wait for our winery visit so all 3 of us can check that goal off the list. Now Jess... you'd better get your own blog going so you can finish another goal ;)

Jeryn's Baptism

Jeryn's baptism was last weekend in Great Bend and was a big celebration for that special little lady! After everything that happened back in February it was a very special day for everybody.

Jeryn loves baths and water so she didn't mind it one bit!

Jeryn has not one but TWO Godfathers to watch out and take care of her. The church didn't mind having two guys for the Godparents so Jerad and Ashley asked their brothers to be the Godfathers. Jeryn's future boyfriends better look out!

Our favorite little girl!!!

Our favorite nephews!

The Godfathers

Abuelo Bob and Abuela Lora

A very happy and blessed family!

After all the excitement from church, baptism, and a BBQ for countless family and friends... the angel finally needed her beauty sleep :) I love that little girl!!!!

Canvas Class

Lora, Ashley, and myself are obsessed with the most amazing scrapbook store in the world, Archiver's in Overland Park. We are quite frequent visitors there and have taken several classes from them. But their newest class was very unique and different from their others. We signed up for the first one they had and loved it!!!

The class was a canvas wall art class. All you had to bring in was your 5x7 picture and patterned papers. They provided the rest and showed you how to do it. Here's mine that will be hanging in our upstairs hallway. Mine is a picture of our gang on New Year's and I chose the word celebrate so I can change the picture out for different party occasions.

Here's Lora's that she's going to put in her bedroom.

And here's Ashley's that she's going to put by her front door. We were all very excited that we took the class... well worth it!!!
