Outside Projects
Here's a post Trent wanted me to do over a month ago and I forgot... oops. I'm trying to get caught up before we leave for our cruise!
Trent had an idea for some flower boxes to hang off the deck rails. Of course in this house that means we're gonna build them ourselves and I'm proud to say I pretty much built 2 of them on my own... with someone hovering right over my shoulder ;)
Even Jeryn wanted to help out her Tio Trent
Here's one of 'em that we painted yellow and planted wave petunias in.
There's the other 2 which we painted blue and orange. I LOVE them!
Another project has been some rock gardens in 3 of our corners in the yard. Trent said they are "wash out" areas?? And his work was gonna throw out all this rock they had tested so Trent thankfully "saved" hundreds of dollars of rock. Free=AWESOME.
Here is the biggest corner over a month ago. Since then perfectionist Trent took it all back out and we had to redo it. Yes, I said WE because I threw on my work gloves and even pitched in. Trent did like to point out that while I did wear my work gloves for safety (to my manicure haha) I was working barefoot which is not smart around rock evidently? I need to take another picture so the perfectionist doesn't get mad at me ;)
Next on the list was redoing our deck chairs. The chairs had seen better days. My parents bought me 2 of them in college and the the other 2 (which are perfect matches) we found curbside in our Olathe duplex that we lived in right after we got married. But don't you know spray paint fixes everything?! That's the before shot of 3 of the chairs... their 4th friend was already undergoing her makeover.
Shot of the action. We unscrewed the canvas back and seat before spraying away.
Ta-da! The after shot is MUCH better now that the chairs match the table. Now the only thing left to do on the deck is restaining this fall. Oh joy :)
Here is this year's flowers on the west side of the house. The big open area to the right of the air conditioner is where we planted 4 peony bulbs (my favorites!!) which won't come up until next year :(
East side of the house. Last year we planted the knock out roses and this year we added some hostas and ornamental grasses.
Front of the house flowers
That's it for the outside tour! At least until Trenton comes up with another project for us :)

Gina & Kirk's Wedding!
And now what you've all been waiting for... the wedding of Kirk and Gina!!!
Blake and his awesome gf, Melany. And for once I took a good, non-creeper pic of Blake ;)
You know these two...
Wendy and Jeremo
The couple's first dance
The GBHS Class of '02! Can't wait for the reunion next year!!!!!!
For the 3rd wedding in a row now me and Wendy were twinkies! We don't plan it, I swear.
In the middle of a Fehrenbach cousin sandwich
Asymmetrical dresses were clearly popular this year haha :)
Lots of pretty ladies!
Trenton and the beautiful bride!!
The newlyweds doing tequila shots with the GB parents. If you've ever been to a GB wedding you know the parents are gonna be partying just as hard as all us kids! It's awesome :)
GB Wives turn for tequila ! Thank you Terri Hughes for taking 15 pictures for me to choose from :) I loved how she grabbed my camera from me and said, "You'll need pictures for your blog!" She knows me too well!
Trenton & Lindsay
Jeremy and Trent were both actually dancing during Footloose so I had to capture their moves for you all.
These GB boys rocked the mike all night long.
My fellow blogger buddy :)
GB Wives Club!
The new best idea ever: at the end of a wedding reception they gave out hot dogs to all the guests. We had a few before heading to Charlie's to end the night. Fun weekend and fun wedding... can't wait for the next one!!

Trent's Bday Celebration in GB
Trent's 28th birthday was last Friday if you saw his birthday shout out on the blog :) After he got home from work he opened his present real quick cause we had to hit the road back to Great Bend for a weekend of fun!
Sporting his birthday crown (which he hates) and his new birthday watch (which he loves!).
Cheesin' with the birthday boy!
On the way to Emporia to pick up Wendy and Jeremy and the furbabies were both fighting over my lap.
Once we got to GB and said hi to Bob and Lora we headed to Charlie's to meet up with the GB gang. We thought the birthday boy needed to start his night with some shots :)
We got to meet up with my fellow blogger/party girl Callie :)
Bride-to-be Gina, Trenton, and Christy
Charlie's= lots of fun!!
GB boys Blake, Jeremy, Mac, and Trent
Me, Caitlin, Wendy, and Melany
Jeremo came back with another round of shots because he "thought they sounded like a good idea."
Last pic of the night of Jeremo, Megan, and Trenton... I believe this was taken right before Megan started dancing on a sleepy Mexican man haha!
Night #2 Gina & Kirk's wedding still to come... LOTS of pics to pick from!

Trenton's 28!
Happy birthday to the Big O! My husband is a man with an amazing list of qualities that might make you gag if I listed them out for you mushy gushy style. So instead I leave you with 12 typical Trenton pictures month-by-month to help relive his 27th year! Happy birthday handsome, I love you!
June 2010- Nate & Erin's wedding: This boys got moves. You should be jealous you don't get to see him freestyle every night like I do :)
July 2010- Jeryn's Baptism: Trent becomes 1 of 2 Godfathers to the little miss. I'm quite sure with his guns he can scare any future boyfriends away with just a flex ;)
August 2010- New landscaping: Trenton is the hardest working person ever. From March- October he's happy as a clam as long as he's outside working on something.
September 2010- Yard Work: Again... working on making our home just the way we want it!
October 2010- Halloween: Loves our niece but also loves to scare the crap out of her.
November 2010- Science City Museum: He's the Maverick to my Goose (except with helicopters not planes) and will bring out his playful kid side at anything we do.
December 2010- Rusco Sweater Party: Not only does my boy like to have a good time... he can rock a light up sweater like nobody's business. And it's also charming that he sewed the lights on himself :) Man of many talents I tell ya.
January 2011- Our annual NYE party: Hands down my fave pic in the post. When you're having a bad day... just look at the picture of this clown ;) He's sure to brighten your day!
February 2011- Jeryn's Toy Box: Trent labored on this for months to make sure that Jeryn had the perfect present for her 1st birthday. He even thought of child safe hinges so her little fingers won't get smashed. He'll make a great dad... someday in the far off future haha.
March 2011- Whole House Painting: He's pretty tall which comes in handy if you're vertically challenged like myself.
April 2011-Firing up the Grill!: Trent is my Chef Boyardee. Thanks to him I no longer have to live off of Hot Pockets, Pizza Rolls, and Easy Mac. I'm not lying... ask my college roommates ;)
May 2011- Flower Boxes: Whadda ya know... another project.
Hope your 28th year is the best yet my love!
And happy anniversary to these folks who brought Trenton into this world and have to share their day with him! I hope we are as happy as you are when we celebrate our 35th anniversary!
