Mother's Day

For Mother's Day Trent and I got crafty and made both our moms a project that we got the idea for when we were in Omaha on our mini vacay with Jo and Kyle. All you need to find is a teacup and then Trent somehow drilled a hole through them with a diamond drill bit?? and then attached them to a pole with some special bolts and thingys. Don't ask me... Trent knows how to actually make the thing... I just picked out the darling teacups I wanted :)

The saying on the tag is "I'm a teacup with a handle. Fill me with birdseed or a candle."

We thought these were perfect for both of our moms since they have flower gardens they could put these in.

4 Generation Pic

Jeryn was in a really fun mood and wanted Tio to keep throwing her high in the sky. She would scream and squeal the whole time.

So cute together!

And one of my furbabies with me on Mother's Day. She was helping me plant flowers so we got a picture together. Don't mind my crazy hair... just look at the cute dog with the flower on her ear :)

City Wide Garage Sale

For as long as I can remember Gardner has held a city wide garage sale the first full weekend in May. As any true G-towner knows... this is serious business. We held a multi family sale at our house since our neighborhood is pretty busy all day. We had stuff from us, Ashley & Jerad, Bob & Lora, Dave & Dana, and Shane & Mindy.

Setting out stuff bright and early at 7 a.m. for the crowds to start coming. Dave & Dana brought all the big furniture so they were able to walk away richer than everybody else!

The guys were on garage sale duty while us ladies went garage sale-ing ourselves. I spent a whopping $19 bucks and got lots of goodies :)

Money man Bob

Dave, Dana, and Henry got to hang all day and we loved getting to see the little man!

If you haven't checked Henry's blog in awhile you should head there to check his progress. The handsome fella had his second heart surgery this week and we appreciate any prayers you could send to him and his family. We love you Henry!!

House Painting After Pics

Drumroll please... I finally took pictures and blogged about our house painting that we completed back in March. Only 2 months late but who's counting? I even went so far as to carry my laptop around so the "before" and "after" shots matched up perfectly. I'm no Young House Love or Katie Bower but I was pretty pleased with myself ;) You can see all the before pics in this post. We repainted for two main reasons: we weren't in love with the goldy-yellow color our builder used and it was a flat finish so it showed every scratch known to mankind. Hope I don't offend anyone who loves goldy-yellow. It's great, really! Just not our style :) We picked out what I call a greige. In some light it looks gray, in some light it looks beige. Shoot in some light in the evening it kinda looks sage. All in all... I LOVE IT!

Living Room

Living room/Coat closet/Stairs

Dining Room (Hate our light... have one picked out for yet another house project)

Kitchen/Door to the deck

Kitchen again

Shot towards front door

Stairs going up to bedrooms and laundry room

Down the hallway to the office, guest bedroom, guest bath, and laundry room

Never did post the before pics of our family room so enjoy the afters :) We used a different color down here than the rest of the house. It's more tan than the upstairs greige.

The door you see takes you to the garage a.k.a. Trent's man cave.

Last pic finally. See the furry friend anywhere?? :) The door on the far right leads outside to the patio. Door in the middle is the 1/2 bath and the door on the left is down to the basement.

That should be all the afters cause we've hung up our paintbrushes for awhile!!

McNeese Customs 4th Anniversary

I've realized what a bad blogger I've become cause I still have stuff from April to blog. Oops. One event I couldn't skip blogging was McNeese Custom's 4th Anniversary!

Our first long bike ride of the year... we headed out at about 8 a.m. to Emporia to celebrate with our friends.

The day was gorgeous out but still too chilly when you're flying down I-35. I realized at about.... ohhh... Edgerton that I probably should've followed behind Trent in the car. Even with my layers and my chaps I was still an icicle.

Trent needed a new tire so of course that means a burn out with the old tire. Boys and their toys.

Charles built this new one for a customer and unveiled it at the anniversary party.

I of course cringe at the sight of the Wildcat crap... but I do have to admit it's a cool bike ;)

One last pic with our friends before bundling back up and heading back home. You can see I had already started layering up since I look out of place next to everyone else in my coat(s) and chaps. Congrats to the whole McNeese family on 4 years of business... we're so lucky to have you guys as friends!

Welcome Baby Evelyn!!

Evelyn Jane Toman has arrived!!! After going almost a week past her arrival date (and on the date Jen was going to be induced) Evelyn decided it was time to come out and meet everybody! Sadly, I came down sick this week so I couldn't be at the hospital to wish her a happy birthday :(

We finally got to meet today and I instantly fell in love with her. She is PERFECT!!!!!!

The proud parents... they are so cute with her! Definitely wearing the new parent glow :)

Welcome to our 'Ridge family Evelyn! You are going to have the best parents (and families!) in the world who are going to spoil you rotten!! Your "Aunt" Kala can't wait to see you grow up :)

Blog Award

Peer pressure has gotten to me since both Callie AND Gina passed this "award" along to me... here goes the 7 random facts about me:

1. I have one extra tooth than most humans should have. Creepy. My dentist weirded me out about it a few years back... maybe that's one of the reasons I hate the dentist!

2. I killed Bambi when I was a junior in high school. I was driving in to the high school at 6 a.m. on a Saturday to leave for a cheerleading competition and a mile from my house I hit the poor little baby. I felt terrible about it :(

3. During middle school I somehow messed up every kitchen appliance known to mankind. I caught the microwave on fire. Twice. Who knew that forks and the wrapper on butter weren't meant to go in the microwave?! Oops. I also flooded the kitchen cause I put Dawn soap in the dishwasher. That one was BAD. It was like something out of a movie with how many bubbles there were! I was trying to help but instead got grounded. Still mad at my parents about that one ;)

4. I was a first chair trumpet player in middle school band but dropped out before high school cause the uniforms were hideous. Cheering at the football games definitely won out over having to march with the band at the games.

5. I have never broken a bone, been stung by a bee, or had stitches. Check-ups and shots are about all I've had done... knock on wood!!!

6. My brother and I called each other "Brother" and "Sissy" for YEARS until we went to school and realized that most people don't do that... you're supposed to use first names. It's a wonder how we weren't targets for bullies ;)

7. I have only done karaoke once in my life. Sadly, I don't remember it because it was the night I finished my finals and J-Mo's had 75 cent tequila shots :( But I do have the pictures as proof. No idea who the poor fellow I dragged on stage is. I'd like to think we sang an incredible duet ;)

Since the rules of this award say I have to pass it on... I choose... drumroll please.... ASHLEY!
